Facilities Department

San Marcos CISD is undertaking the single largest construction and renovation project in the history of the school district under the direction of a newly formed Facilities Department. This department is responsible for coordinating and managing all new construction and renovation projects in the district while complying with all planning and zoning requirements.

As the Facilities Director, Mike Horton is overseeing construction projects for the district by serving as a liaison to architects, engineers, and consultants to develop, review and finalize project plans, drawings, schematics and specifications. His role also involves working with city, county, state and federal officials to ensure conformity with codes and ordinances regulating district construction projects. He also oversees the approval process for architects, engineers and contractors.

In addition to facility construction and repair, the Facilities Department, is also responsible for policy, reports and law, budget and inventory and safety.
