NEWS FLASH!!!!
Communication and easy accessibility can improve your success in the classroom. I highly encourage you to use one or more of these resources to stay in the loop. You can reach me through the school email at rebecca.meadows@smcisd.net. For those of you who like to keep in close touch on a more personal and relaxed basis, I have a Facebook page for the class. The classes' activities are documented and commented upon by myself and anyone else who cares to tag photos or leave comments about the different activities. You can find me at Valerie Meadows English Class. I also have a Twitter feed Valerie Meadows http://twitter.com/#!/ValerieMeadows
I'll be giving you my cell phone number at the start of the school year. Feel free to text me for help with assignments. I don't talk on the phone so don't expect me to pick up if you call me. And don't worry about the time you text. I turn my phone off so that I'm not bothered at night. In summary, you have numerous ways to keep on top of what's happening in class and getting the help you need to be successful.

How About Better Parents?
This op-ed piece won't tell you anything you didn't know already, in all likelihood, but it is nice to see someone provide some evidence to support the idea that reading to your young children makes a huge difference for the child in later academic years.
