Dear students, teachers & SMHS community, I will not be returning to SMHS next school year so that I can pursue another career path. It was pleasure to work with you all and I hope that you continue to participate in library programming and that you recruit your friends to come to the library often! THE IMPORTANCE OF SCHOOL LIBRARIES
The library is an integral part of the school and the learning process. Of course, you already knew that … But did you know that dozens of studies conducted throughout the U.S. have shown that students who use library resources regularly as a part of classroom activities perform better on standardized tests than students who don’t use library resources?
Did you know that in a recent survey conducted by the Texas Library Association… 98% of Texans surveyed agreed that school libraries are important because they give every child the opportunity to read and learn 99% of Texans surveyed agree that school libraries are an essential part of the education experience 98% of Texans surveyed agree that school libraries are important because they help teach children research skills they will need all their lives THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING THE SMHS LIBRARY SO THAT WE CAN BETTER SERVE OUR SCHOOL COMMUNITY!

When ACC is not in session, the library will close at 4:15
