Speech-To-Text

  • Dictation is sometimes called “speech-to-text,” “voice-to-text” or “speech recognition” technology. It is an assistive technology tool that can help students who need assistance with writing. With speech-to-text technology, students can write words by speaking them aloud. Additional information can be found at Accommodation Central.

Google Voice Typing

  • Google Voice Typing allows students to type as they speak. Voice Typing is located Under Tools in Google Docs. Click the link below for information on how to set up Google Voice Typing.

Word Prediction

  • As a student enters the first letter or letters of a word, the program predicts the word that the student is trying to type. Words appear in a prediction list and students select their desired word from this list.

Drawing Tools

  • Drawing Tools allows students to express themselves in ways other than using words. Drawing a picture or graphic representation of a concept allows students alternative ways to express what they have learned.
