Reporting Timelines for Spring 2025 State Assessments
Spring EOCs (Algebra I, English I, English II, Biology, U.S. History)
- Campuses will receive score information by May 23, 2025
- Scores will be posted in the Family Portal by June 10, 2025
- Scores can also be accessed through Home Access Center following these instructions.
- EOC Retests will occur June 23-26 at SMHS. Please contact suzanne.hix@smcisd.net for more information.
- If you have questions about how scores impact your student's classes for the 25-26 school year or graduation requirements, please email your student's counselor and assistant principal.
Spring Grade 3-8 STAAR
- Campuses will receive score information by May 30, 2025
- Scores will be posted in the Family Portal by June 17, 2025
- Scores can also be accessed through Home Access Center following these instructions.
- Retests do not exist for Grade 3-8 STAAR Assessments
- If you have questions about how scores impact your student's classes for the 25-26 school year, please email your student's counselor and assistant principal.
TELPAS

State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness
The State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) program, which was implemented in spring 2012, includes annual assessments for
- reading and mathematics, grades 3–8
- science at grades 5 and 8
- social studies at grade 8
- end-of-course (EOC) assessments for English I, English II, Algebra I, biology and U.S history.

How is STAAR Different?
STAAR is a more rigorous testing program. It emphasizes "readiness" standards, which are the knowledge and skills that are considered most important for success in the grade or course subject that follows and for college and career. STAAR will contain more test questions at most grades than did TAKS assessments. The high school assessments will move from grade-based tests to course-based exams. For the first time, the state's assessments will have a time limit. Students will have four hours to complete each exam.
Testing Scores Summary
To view a summary of your child’s testing scores at this time, go to: http://www.TexasAssessment.com. You will be prompted to enter your child’s Unique Access Code and date of birth before you are given access to your child’s portal.
If you need assistance with the Unique Access Code, you can look it up by using your student's first name, date of birth and Social Security number. You can also access it by calling your student's school to ask for their State ID (ten digit number used for state testing).

Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR)
The Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR) pull together a wide range of information on the performance of students in each school and district in Texas every year. Performance is shown disaggregated by student groups, including ethnicity and socioeconomic status. The reports also provide extensive information on school and district staff, programs, and student demographics.
The TAPRs were previously known as the Academic Excellence Indicator System (AEIS) Reports. Those reports were published from 2003–04 to 2011–12. They may be found at the AEIS Archive.

Performance-Based Monitoring Analysis System (PBMAS)
Performance-Based Monitoring (PBM) staff develops the Performance-Based Monitoring Analysis System (PBMAS), an automated data system that reports annually on the performance of school districts and charter schools in selected program areas (bilingual education/English as a second language, career and technical education, certain federal Title programs, and special education). The Performance-Based Monitoring Analysis System (PBMAS) data is reported at district, region, and state levels.
