Student Teachers
SMCISD is proud to partner with area Universities/Alternative Certification Programs to provide student teachers a place to learn and observe. All student teachers must be pre-approved prior to their first day on one of our campuses. Please see the information and instructions below.
Student Teachers
- Complete the SMCISD online Volunteer Background Application for the semester requested.
- Your student teacher coordinator/office will provide you with the background information (you cannot begin your assignment until your background has been completed).
- Attend the Student Teacher Orientation
- You will receive notification of the date, time, and location of the orientation from your student teacher coordinator (these are typically held the first week of the semester).
- Questions
- Don't hesitate to get in touch with your student teacher coordinator with any questions regarding your student teaching assignment.
Observers, Practicum & Block Program Information
SMCISD is proud to partner with area Universities/Alternative Certification Programs to provide interns, block students, and student observers a place to learn and observe. All interns, block students, and student observers must be pre-approved prior to their first day on one of our campuses. Please see the information and instructions below.
- Please contact the campus you are interested in with your placement request.
- Complete the SMCISD Volunteer Background Check Form
- This must be completed, and you must be approved before you can go on one of our campuses.
- Please contact Human Resources with any questions you may have regarding your assignment.
