Brigitte Smith is in her twelfth year of teaching, all in San Marcos CISD. Smith received her Bachelors of Music Education from Texas State University and her Masters in Choral Conducting from Michigan State University where she was a student of Dr. Sandra Snow, Dr. Jonathan Reed, and Dr. David Rayl.

Smith is thrilled to be in her third year as the Co-Director of Choirs at San Marcos High School with Dawn Sheridan-Reinhuber. Choirs under Mrs. Smith's direction have received numerous Sweepstakes awards and Division I ratings at UIL and festival competitions. In addition to her director duties, she also serves as the chapter advisor for the school’s Tri-M Music Honor Society.

Smith’s professional affiliations include membership in the Texas Choral Directors Association, Texas Music Educators Association, and the Texas Music Adjudicators Association. In addition, she had the honor of serving as the Region 18 Middle School Vocal Coordinator during her last two years as choir director at Goodnight Middle School.

As an active adjudicator through the state, Smith frequently serves on the judging panels for UIL Concert and Sight Reading, Solo and Ensemble, and various festivals.  In addition she is frequently asked to clinic Region and Honor choirs throughout the area.  

Outside of her day job, Smith is a founding member of the Purgatory Creek Chorale, and serves as the soprano section leader at the St. Edwards University All-State preparatory camp. Though she is a high school director now, Smith remains passionate about the importance of choral education at all levels.  Smith lives in San Marcos with her husband Nathan Rolfe, SMHS band director and proud San Marcos graduate.  She is the proud mother of sophomore, Cayden, whom she has the pleasure of teaching, and a precious eighteen month old boy, Mason, who loves cars.  In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family, is an avid camper and hiker, and loves practicing hot yoga!
