Hello, I am Monica Sustaita and this is my 13th year teaching mathematics here at San Marcos High School. I was born and raised in Austin, Texas and all of my family resides in the city or the surrounding area.  I graduated from the University of Texas in 2006 with a degree in Mathematics. I am currently working on my Ph.D. in Mathematics Education at Texas State University. 

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my five nieces.  This summer we did weekly activities together, like swimming, going to the movies, or just playing at home.  I usually spend my weekends watching my favorite football teams, the Texas Longhorns and Dallas Cowboys.  Some of my other interests are (re)reading the Harry Potter books and watching The Office on Netflix.  

I have enjoyed my years teaching here in San Marcos. I have seen my students grow up right before my eyes, from freshman year to seniors at graduation.  It is great to see them go on to college, start a family, become active members in the community, and go on to lead successful lives.  I love what I do and I am glad San Marcos HS chose me 13 years ago.
