Hello! My name is Ms. Arlene Hooper.  I look forward to having you in my reading class this year. I hope you are ready to learn a lot of new and exciting things. Come along with us Texans, as we travel through the world of books.  Before we begin let me tell you a little about myself.

I was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. I am the eldest with two younger siblings.  I attended Southwest Texas State University, currently Texas State University where I obtained my Bachelors degree in Education, Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction, and Master’s in Education Administration. I have taught in the San Marcos school district for 19 years.  

This year, you will also have three other teachers.  Mr. Gullion (Mr. G.) will be teaching science.  Miss Little will be teaching social studies, and  Mrs. Fissel will be teaching math. We are thrilled to help you make the transition to be successful in middle school. I am so excited to be your teacher this year as we “Road Trip Through Literature” as Hooper’s .  I look forward to see your smiling face Monday morning.
