My name is Veronica Reyes (V. Reyes) and I am currently the Gifted and Talented Specialist at Travis Elementary School. I have a true passion for Gifted Education, so I am excited to be able to work in this capacity.
I was born in New Braunfels, Texas. I was raised in Kyle, Texas and graduated from Hays High School in 2004. I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 2008 (hook 'em!). I started my career in education as a substitute teacher and then instructional assistant while attending graduate school. I graduated with my master's degree in the summer of 2012, and then immediately began setting up my classroom to teach first grade at Travis.
This will be my 13th year in education, and tenth year here at Travis. I have previously taught Living with Science, 1st grade, and 5th grade Math and Science.
In my free time, I enjoy going to the gym and spending time with my family, friends, and my boxer dog Tex. I also love to listen to music, dance, read, watch sports (Texas Longhorns, San Antonio Spurs, Houston Astros, FC Barcelona, Dallas Cowboys), and collect shoes!
