Hello All,

I am Jerri Zapata and super excited to be teaching First Grade! My classroom goal is to learn a lot, have tons of fun, use kind and respectful language, and to turn my students into readers and life long book lovers.

About Me: I am a true Texan, born and raised. This is my third time living in San Marcos. I grew up here from age 0-15, moved to McAllen for high school, came back to attend SWT/Texas State University, moved to Cedar Park, and now I'm back for good. I've been married to my husband, Joe, since 2013. We have 3 children, Jaxon 3 years old, baby Jayce is 4 months old, and our 5-year-old Yorkie named Gino.

Teaching Experience: After graduating from Texas State, I taught dance in Leander for two years and at Round Rock High School for five years. Then, I was a substitute teacher for SMCISD for three years, during which, I accepted seven long term sub jobs at the elementary level and fell in love with teaching little ones. This is now my third year teaching at Travis
