My name is Cathy McBride Stoughton, and I am my 25th year of teaching and coaching (21st year teaching at SMHS). I graduated from SMHS in 1993 where I played volleyball, basketball, and softball, and I was a member of the Rattler Band as a trumpet player and UIL math team. My entire family are San Marcos CISD alumni, including my grandfather who graduated from SMHS in 1932.
I teach Geometry PreAP, and in my 25 years I have taught Geometry, Algebra 2, Algebra 1, Algebra & Beyond, and Math Models. I am also the head softball coach, and I have also coached basketball and volleyball.
I am on the Board of Directors for the San Marcos Artist Retention, and Training (SMART) Orchestra, and I play the trumpet and the piano. I also recently completed my first triathlon, and I enjoy exercise and physical activity.
I am an Apple Certified Teacher & Google Level 1 Educator Certified, and I am in the last year of pursuing my masters in Mathematics Education at Texas State University.
I am married with two beautiful children, and I love kids, music, puzzles, and teaching!
