Good Day Everyone!

A Little About Me:

I was born in Briarwood, NY, however I call Texas my home now. Texas has provided me with so much experience, created some of my most cherished memories, and all the while being so welcoming. I had the great opportunity to attend and graduate from Texas State University. Starting my sophomore year, I got the opportunity to work for Kidventure Houston for two whole summers as a counselor. This was where I began to find my passion for working with children. It was a job that I truly cared about because deep down I felt that I made a difference in those campers' lives. Since then, I have been so eager to continue my passion, and I'm grateful to be working at DeZavala Elementary!

Philosophy of Teaching

  • At the forefront of education, children will develop skills in Science, Math, History, English, etc. However, I believe education needs to become a positive influence in the student’s lives. Students should be given knowledge on values such as respect, honesty, charity, discipline, etc. In my eyes, the teacher must be more than an academic coach, but a mentor. When a teacher becomes more than just a teacher to their students, than amazing things can happen.
