Welcome Rodriguez Knights!!!

The beauty of a new school is to have a fresh new start! I'm excited for our new adventure!

I returned to the district last year and was the Focus Teacher at Travis Elementary where I established positive relationships with students. Prior to returning home to the district I had a brief stay with Eanes ISD. Working with two different elementary school programs as a Behavior Support Teacher, I put my education and experience to practice. As a former student of SMCISD, a graduate of Texas State University, and a lifelong resident of San Marcos, I represented our community well by being nominated for Teacher of the Year at Forest Trail Elementary in Westlake during the 2016-2017 academic year.

Shortly after completing my undergraduate degree, I began my teaching career as an Instructional Aide with Focus at Bowie Elementary, with a follow-on position at DeZavala Elementary. The experience proved to be a critical moment in my career development as I felt called to pursue a career as an educator in special education. I graduated in 2015 from Texas State University, obtaining Master’s in Special Education with concentration in Behavioral Disorders/Positive Behavior Intervention Supports.

This year I aim to build and share my community with students, teachers, and parents. My goal is to increase our student success and be community leaders in San Marcos, TX. I practice rigid expectation management along with playful approaches to reinforcement of positive behavioral outcomes.

I am a mother of 4 kids, spanning from elementary to high school and married to a Texas National Guard Veteran for almost a decade. I am very excited to be part of the Rodriguez Elementary Family!
