I love to teach. I first entered as a classroom in 1995 and knew that was where I belonged. Over a lengthy career, I have taught orchestra, band, theater and choir while following my husband around the country as he served twenty years in the U.S. Army. I have performed professionally on piano, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, and electric bass. One of the more interesting places I have worked has been at North Pole, Alaska.
While in college, I participated in the university's Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble, University Chorus, Lab Band, and was an active accompanist for strings, woodwinds, brass, and vocalists. I am affiliated Sigma Alpha Iota (professional music fraternity), Alpha Delta Kappa (sorority recognizing excellence in teaching and world understanding), Texas Music Educator's Association, and Texas Orchestra Director's Association.
When not teaching, I enjoy a variety of pursuits including training for triathlons, quilting, movies and reading.
