I am a Special Education Instructional Assistant, born and raised in the Strawberry Capital, Poteet, Texas. Growing up I played sports, was an actor in the school theater and loved my art classes. I found myself lounging in the river daily while attending Texas State University. While at college, I played on the Tx State Women's Rugby team as a flanker for four years and integrated myself in many diverse, local community groups. After graduating with my bachelors, I spent quite the amount of years traveling the US exploring and itching my feet until I was ready to make San Marcos my forever home and SMCISD my teaching home base.
This year will be my 2nd year at Lamar and I would not have it any other way! I have lived an unconvential life, took roads less traveld and will use those lessons and experiences to better my community. Our students are here to gain the skills they need to be successful in this life and I will do everything I can to help them down that path.
My hobbies are traveling & outdoor recreation, jewelry making, roller skating, attending live music & theater, and vending at art & farmer's markets. On days that it is not raining, you can find me commuting to work on my bicycle. Also, I cannot leave out our wonderful river and how important it is that we protect her, so if you would like to join a local clean up, I've got your resources! I have fallen in love with our community here in San Marcos and am glad to call it home and share it with our wonderful SMCISD staff, families and students. Feel free to reach out anytime!
