Hi! My name is Amadeo Villanueva and I am the 7th/8th-Grade GEAR UP Coordinator at Miller Middle School in San Marcos, TX. My passion is making a difference in the lives of students and helping students realize their full potential.
My passion for education is rooted in my own personal struggles growing up in a rough neighborhood and my career in the military. My mission is to motivate all students into a better version of themselves and that the present struggle is temporary, but that the educational benefits are forever. I joined San Marcos CISD in the fall of 2016, after 3 years as a program manager for the University of Texas at Dallas. Prior to my career at UT-Dallas, I served in the United States Army. I retired as a Captain after a 12-year career with a skill-set that will guide me for the rest of my life. During my time in the Army, I earned a Bachelor's in Business Administration from Tarleton State University and a Master's in Human Resources Development from Webster University in 2011. I am currently attending Texas A&M - Commerce and pursuing a Masters's degree in Educational Leadership. I am fast-tracking in the field of education and changing lives every single day!
