I am born and raised in Texas. I've lived in West Texas, North Texas, and now the beautiful Hill Country. I earned my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Texas State University and my master's degree in Educational Administration from Lamar University. I've completed the Wilson Level 1 Training, so I'm WRS Level I Certified Wilson® Dyslexia Practitioner (W.D.P.). This is my 16th year of teaching and 2nd year at Crockett Elementary. Majority of my career has been as a 4th grade teacher, but I've also taught 5th grade, 1st grade, Kinder-6th ESOL intervention, and Kinder-2nd Instructional Coach. I'm beyond ecstatic to be the Dyslexia and Reading Interventionist.
I live in San Marcos with my husband, daughter, son, and fur baby. When I'm not teaching, planning, or thinking about school (which is pretty much ALL THE TIME), you'll find me relaxing with my family because that's my happy place, grocery shopping because I love to cook, perusing books at the library or Half Price Books because I love to read, and strolling around the neighborhood because I love to be outside. I drink coffee all day long, but I also supplement with water. :)
I'm a HUGE Cleveland sports teams fan: Indians, Cavs, and yes the Browns. They chose me. I didn't choose them.
If there is one thing that I want you to know about me, it is that I'm passionate about children, their social and emotional well-being, their learning opportunities, and family- school connections.
