Mrs. Gonzalez's 6th and 7th Grade Math
Welcome 6th and 7th graders! I am very excited to be your math teacher this year! Let me tell you a little about myself...
I have more than 20 years of teaching experience in grades three through seven and am in my 12th year of teaching at Miller Middle School. I live in San Marcos with my family. My husband is a Professor of Percussion in the School of Music at Texas State University. I have three children - Jeremy is a graduate of both Texas State University and the University of Texas School of Law and is a corporate litigation lawyer in Dallas; Ashley is a graduate of Texas A&M University and is an operating room nurse at St. David's Medical Center in North Austin; Emily, also a graduate of Texas A&M University, is a biomedical engineer and cardiac rhythm management specialist for Abbott Laboratories in San Antonio. During my free time I enjoy spending time outdoors, visiting family, and watching my favorite TV shows on Netflix.
Homework is assigned Monday through Friday, though ALL work can be successfully completed within each class period, as time will be provided to complete these assignments daily. Regular homework completion is very important, as it provides independent practice of the skills being taught in class. Students who correctly complete their homework are more likely to be successful when the material is tested.
It is very important that you keep up in class! Late assignments lower your grade and cause you to fall behind in your coursework.
Tutorials are available from 7:45 - 8:15 A.M., so come in and get help if you're needing it!
Detention will be assigned to students who are missing assignments, not coming to class with required materials, or are not behaving in class.
*My conference period is 3rd period (10:16 - 11:10 A.M.) daily.
