Our School Name

Colonel William Barret Travis will always be remembered as the Texas commander at the Alamo. His appeal for reinforcements has become an American symbol of unyielding courage and heroism. He was only 26 at the time of his death.

Vision

We believe that the most promising strategy for achieving the mission of Travis Elementary School is to develop our capacity to function as a professional community.  We envision a school in which:

1. Students come first.
2. All staff must model exemplary social, ethical and educational values.
3. We must effectively communicate the school’s expectations, goals and progress to all stakeholders.
4. Students must share the responsibility for their own academic success.
5. A positive school climate should be evidenced by trust, cooperation, and pride.
