Hi Heroes!
I am Liz Porter, the School Librarian and Information Literacy Specialist at Hernandez Elementary School.  I grew up in Vermont, but moved to North Carolina after college and completed my Masters in Library Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2015. Most recently, I worked as a school librarian in Austin. 

I am passionate about fostering a lifelong love of reading and inquiry in our students. My goal is to make the library a fun, inclusive, and student-centered space every day.

When I’m not in the library, I love to read, hike, and explore the hill country with my husband, son and baby daughter. 

I am so excited to join the Hernandez Heroes as your new ILS!
