Denisha Presley serves as the Principal at San Marcos High School. She also oversees the Administrative & Clerical Support & Counseling Departments.

From 2005 through 2013, Presley served as an assistant principal for six years and teacher for two years at San Marcos HS. The leader of San Marcos High School will enter her 23rd year in education when the school year begins in August 2022.

Presley is no stranger to the city of San Marcos. She earned both an undergraduate degree in English and a master's degree in education from Texas State University in addition to her eight years working at San Marcos CISD.

Presley rejoined San Marcos CISD in August 2019, after serving three years as principal at Lehman High School in Hays CISD. In her role as principal, Presley supervised 200 employees and 2,600 students. She developed systems for behavior and infrastructure for Professional Learning Communities over the course of three years, as well as serving on the district's instructional leadership team. During her tenure, Lehman High School increased their acceptance rate to colleges by 30% and saw annual increases in academic success.

“I can’t describe how excited I am about returning to San Marcos CISD,” Presley said. “Although I’ve maintained various levels of connection for more than 20 years, I am grateful for the opportunity to once again fully immerse and focus my service on that of the students, families, and staff of SMCISD.”

Denisha Presley is married to Jimmy Presley, and together the couple has three children: Camille, Malik, and Kayla.
