Mrs. Elena Mansfield

Hello! My name is Elena Mansfield, and I am excited to begin my sixth year in education and my first year serving as the Academic Dean at Miller Middle School. I am proud to be a San Marcos native, having attended Crockett Elementary, Hernandez Intermediate, Goodnight Middle School, and San Marcos High School. During my time at SMHS, I was actively involved as an officer on Diamond Line, a member of the National Honor Society, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and the Student Council, experiences that shaped my love for leadership and service.

I continued my education at Texas State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education with honors. Most recently, I completed my Master’s in Educational Leadership, also at Texas State. Over the course of my career, I have taught elementary education in both Comal ISD and Dripping Springs ISD. At Comal ISD, I taught third grade for two years and fourth grade for one year. At Dripping Springs ISD, I served as a fourth-grade teacher and took on additional leadership roles as a Vertical Alignment Facilitator, District Professional Development Facilitator, Campus Advisory Team Member, and District Elementary Citizenship Grading Committee member. These opportunities have deepened my passion for instructional leadership, collaboration, and student growth.

I am honored to be part of the Miller Middle School administrative team and committed to helping every student reach their fullest potential. My mission as Academic Dean is to foster a culture of high expectations, equity, and growth by supporting teachers, guiding students, and engaging families. I am dedicated to ensuring that each student is provided with the tools, encouragement, and opportunities they need to thrive academically and personally. By modeling integrity, building strong relationships, and using data-driven practices, I strive to create a safe, collaborative, and inspiring environment for both students and educators.

Outside of school, I recently married my husband in June 2025 in Gruene, TX, surrounded by close family and friends. We now live in Wimberley with our two dogs, Theo, a beagle, and Zola, a Belgian Malinois mix. In our free time, we enjoy hiking trails and spending time at our family cabin on the lake in Michigan. We are also overjoyed to share that we are expecting our first child in March 2026.
