Greetings! My name is Dr. Marlyn Young and I’m honored and excited to be the Principal of Miller Middle School.  My journey in education started 27 years ago, as a classroom teacher at a Junior High, from there I have served as a Secondary Instructional Coach, Dyslexic Interventionist, Assistant Principal, Behavior Coordinator, and Elementary Principal.  

I have been married to Matthew Young for 27 years.  We have two children, one is a graduate of Texas State University with a degree in Public Administration, and my other is attending college majoring in Business and Graphic Design. As a family, we enjoy canoeing, floating on the river, fishing, and biking.  During my spare time, I enjoy running, reading,  and cooking. 

I received my Bachelor's in Multidisciplinary Studies from McMurry University, my Master's in Administration at the University of Phoenix, and my Doctorate in Special Education at Northcentral University. 

 It is my personal mission to inspire, connect, motivate, and propel each and every member of our school family to continue to strive for excellence and to become life-long learners.  As we progress forward, please know that my door is open, and I welcome your input as we continue to shine in San Marcos Consolidated ISD.  Together we can and will rise to all opportunities that will provide our students and community with the very best.
