Why do we dedicate this learning space in honor of Mr. Augustin Lucio?
Mr. Augustin Lucio is one of our
SMHS Rattler champions!
Texas State University students interviewed people who influenced San Marcos over time.
Find out about Mr. Lucio's life as a migrant farm worker,
his days as a soldier in the D-Day Invasion of Normandy,
and his role in the local fight for equal rights for Latinos in education.
Follow the link to the Texas State Archives.
Texas State Archives: Augustin Lucio
The University of Texas at Austin
gathered oral histories of local champions in a project entitled "Voces".
Augustin Lucio of San Marcos was one of the
Latino voices ("Voces") of local history who were interviewed.
