Theatre Arts I
Course 5711 Introduction to our program and all of the facets that being involved in creating theatre entails. Students will delve into everything from performance to design, writing to construction, special fx makeup to lighting, and more. From this introduction course, students can specialize in either technical theatre or performance classes.
Technical Theatre
Course 5761-5764 Creative and technically minded students learn how to run the magic of live and recorded productions. SMHS’s Performing Arts Center gives students opportunities to operate or design for the department’s season of shows.
Tech Intern
Using the skills learned in technical theatre, these specialty teams of students run all events scheduled in the Performing Arts Center. Prerequisites include Technical Theatre I or Theatre Arts I and director approval.
Theatre Production
Audition only section! Course 5751-5754 Theatre Production is the UIL Competition Team and those students who work towards professional careers in theatre and/or media. This course requires work outside of the classroom hours.
