Michelle Knight attended Texas Woman's University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree. Mrs. Knight founded and then directed the Goodnight Junior High Dancin' Stars Dance Team and was instrumental in implementing middle school dance programs in SMCISD.She worked for HTEDance & Spirit Group, one of the major dance companies in the drill team sector, for ten years, and served as the Vice President of the company for four years.
Michelle has choreographed for many special events and organizations across the state of Texas, including the Dallas Holiday Parade and the Alamo Bowl. Mrs. Knight was a repeat workshop presenter at the Drill Team Directors of America annual convention and served as the choreographer for DTDA's 2007 National All Star Drill Team. Throughout the last fifteen years, she has received many awards for instruction and choreography and, for the last two years, was selected by her fellow dance educators as the American Dance & Drill Team "Most Outstanding Director." In 2017, Mrs. Knight was nominated by community members and selected by the San Marcos Education Foundation as a SMCISD "Distinguished Alumni."
Mrs. Knight is entering her fourteenth year teaching and directing at the high school level. She is married to San Marcos HS Band Director, Damon Knight and they have a spunky, athletic little Rattler named Brooklyn.
Mrs. Knight is glad to teach at her alma mater and is grateful for the opportunity to work with such talented students. Mrs. Knight is very honored to be the director of the award winning Dazzlers and Diamond Line Dance Teams.
