Mrs. Sarah Smith
Sarah currently lives in New Braunfels, TX with her husband, Adam and three children; Aaron, Kaydence, and Zachary. Sarah has been a music educator since 2005, but has been passionate about sharing her gift of music and performing with others her entire life.
Sarah has had the privilege of working with students, helping them grow and learn, explore, and get excited about music since 2005 in a school setting. She has worked with students from K-12, general music, instrumental music: band and orchestra, choir, exploratory music, digital music, jazz band, and color guard. Throughout the pandemic in 2020, she learned to create a virtual curriculum using digital tools that students could use at home yet still keep connected, be engaged, and collaborate with each other. Her district even recognized her and had her present in front of the school board with student projects.
Sarah has also been recognized for her work in composition. In 2013, Sarah completed her Master's Degree in Instrumental Music Education. For her master's project, she composed an original instrumental work for her middle school band students and had them help give input in her project. They also wrote their own compositions which Sarah then arranged into a band medley which they later performed. Sarah's composition went on to be published by a major publishing company, C.L. Barnhouse and is performed by schools all over the world. Sarah is still sought out by educators asking for input and advice on arranging, and composition. She also values arranging and composition as an extremely valuable tool because it is a moderation/accommodation to help meet students so that they can be successful.
