Scholarship Requirements for San Marcos Tennis Booster Club

I. Player will have played for the San Marcos Tennis team all 4 years of high school or been a Varsity player for their senior year.

a. Transfers can be discussed individually at the discretion of the tennis booster board. The board’s decision will be final.

II. Player will have actively participated in Tennis their entire senior year.

III. Player will have been academically eligible their entire senior year.

IV. Player will maintain an overall GPA of at least a 3.0, anything under a 3.0 can be reviewed by the board. The board’s decision will be final.

V. Player will have completed at least 20 hours of community service each year that they played.

VI. Player will submit applications to the proper office on time.

a. Player will include the standard application as well as a short essay stating how tennis has benefited them.

VII. A maximum of 6 scholarships in the amount of $500 will be awarded to the deserving players.

a. Scholarships will be distributed to the player when he/she submits proof of college admission to the board.

This scholarship utilizes the general SMHS application as well as requiring an additional essay.
