The San Marcos Chamber of Commerce is providing a scholarship to at least one deserving San Marcos High School graduating senior intending to pursue post high school education/training in order to pursue a career path with an employer in the San Marcos area.

In order for seniors to apply for this scholarship, please write an essay addressing the prompt listed below. This essay must be attached to a completed general scholarship application packet and returned to Post Secondary Student Success Coordinator Keith Cunningham, PhD at San Marcos High School by March 8, 2024.

 Describe your desire to pursue a career path that exists in the San Marcos area and the benefits of working/living long-term in this area. What is the job type you are interested in? What interests you most about this job/career? What additional education/training will be required for your desired career path?  

This scholarship utilizes the SMHS general scholarship application with an extra essay prompt.

Scholarship Amount: $1000

Application Deadline: March 6, 2025 (turned into Dr. Cunningham by the end of the school day)
