About the Duckett Local Conservation Scholarship

  • The Steve Duckett Local Conservation Scholarship will be awarded to an individual who demonstrates exceptional commitment to nature conservation and environmental stewardship in their own community. 

    All those who apply for the Steve Duckett Local Conservation Scholarship must be in good academic standing with their current educational institution, with a GPA of 3.0 or greater. Candidates for this scholarship must demonstrate a commitment to environmental conservation using past and present volunteer, professional, and educational experiences. Candidates must be entering an accredited community college, college, university, or post-graduate program.

    To apply for this scholarship, please submit the following in a single email:

    • An up-to-date resume,
    • An official transcript,
    • A 750-1,000-word personal statement explaining the candidate’s dedication to local conservation and detailing their past and current efforts to contribute to conservation and preservation. What ideas do you have for policy, and how can we make a larger change? Also, in what ways do you encourage others to implement sustainability practices into their lives?

    Scholarship Amount: $1000
