About Us

  • The San Marcos CISD Career and Technical Education program offers a sequence of courses that provides students with coherent and rigorous content. CTE content is aligned with challenging academic standards and relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare for further education and careers in current or emerging professions. The San Marcos CISD CTE Department strives to:

    • Ensure rigorous and meaningful curriculum is taught to every student within the CTE department in order that every student is post-secondary ready without the need for remediation.
    • Increase the number of business and industry partnerships.
    • Expand cross curricular relationships among CTE and core subject teachers.
    • Increase the number of certifications offered and earned by CTE students.
    • Increase CTSO student enrollment and participation.
    • Provide teacher professional development, training, and resources.
    • Increase CTE awareness at all grade levels.
    • Increase the CTE department’s community exposure.

    San Marcos CISD offers support to school district for career and technical education programs in:  Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources; Architecture and Construction; Arts, Audio/Video Technology, and Communications; Business Management and Administrations; Education and Training; Finance; Health Science; Hospitality and Tourism; Human Services; Information Technology; Law, Public Safety, Corrections, and Security; Manufacturing; Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM); and Transportation, Distribution, and Logistics.

    Admission to these programs is based on enrollment in LEA secondary schools. 

    It is the policy of San Marcos CISD not to discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex or handicap in its CTE programs, services or activities as required by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended; Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972; and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended.
