Senior Last Week Schedule: Seniors should NOT be on campus outside of event times.

(May 20) Senior Elementary/Middle School Walks: The seniors get to choose one San Marcos CISD campus to walk in their caps and gowns. This is an opportunity for the seniors to see staff that have helped them along their educational path. It also serves as inspiration for the younger students to see our graduates in their regalia. Students must sign up to participate. Sign up deadline is April 30th by 4pm.

(May 21) Decision Day: An opportunity for seniors to announce their post-secondary plans (i.e. college or trade school acceptance, military commitment). Representatives from the colleges and programs will be invited to attend the event to welcome students.

(May 22) Mandatory Graduation Practice: Seniors MUST attend graduation practice to be eligible to walk at graduation. Academic cords will be distributed at practice.

(May 22 Evening) Robing Ceremony: All seniors have the chance to choose one SMCISD staff member that has impacted them throughout their entire educational experience. The student will get to write a brief letter to their selected staff member that will be read at the ceremony. The staff member will then “robe” the student by placing their graduation robe on them. Students must sign up to participate. Sign up deadline is April 30th by 4pm.

(May 23) Senior Final Walk: Seniors take a last walk through the SMHS halls. Families are encouraged to attend this event to see the seniors exit the building for a final time.

(May 23 evening) Senior Sunset: A senior-only event in which they are invited to watch the sunset at SMHS on their final day as high school students.

        Graduation Regalia:

Students are not allowed to wear decorated caps or gowns to graduation. They can only wear SMHS provided stoles, cords, and metals. We will not allow any personalized stoles or cords to be worn during the commencement ceremony. Any prohibited items will be taken up prior to the ceremony and will be available for pick up on 5/28 in the SMHS front office.
