The SMCISD Business Office is responsible for all district funds, coordination of financial systems, district employee payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Also, the department oversees the annual budget process, district investments, and state and federal financial reporting.

By publicly posting the following written disclosure, San Marcos CISD (“SMCISD”) intends that market participants receive and use it for purposes of the independent registered municipal advisor exemption to the SEC Municipal Advisor Rule.
SMCISD has retained an independent registered municipal advisor. SMCISD is represented by and will rely on its municipal advisor, Specialized Public Finance Inc. (“SPFI”), to provide advice on proposals from financial services firms concerning the issuance of municipal securities. This certificate may be relied upon until otherwise posted or updated. Proposals may be addressed to Assistant Superintendent of Finance at SMCISD. If the proposal received will be seriously considered by SMCISD, the entity will share the document with its municipal advisor.
W-9 Statement
Any vendor that we make payments to; therefore, any new vendor that the District receives goods from will be asked to complete a W-9 Form. Any payment that San Marcos CISD makes, whether from the district office or a school, is subject to IRS 1099 reporting requirements. San Marcos CISD utilizes the W-9 Form to obtain pertinent information on potential payees including their tax identification number. Their Tax ID number is either their EIN (employer identification number) or their SS (social security number). This form can be obtained from the San Marcos CISD Finance Office.
