Margie T. Villalpando

Margie T. Villalpando brings a wealth of experience in volunteer services and even public service. Villalpando served as Hays County Clerk for three years. She is currently City Secretary for the City of Martindale. She received a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences from Southwest Texas State University. She also has served as an administrative assistant with the San Marcos Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, as the Hays County Branch Director with the American Red Cross of Central Texas, as a Congressional Staff Assistant with the U.S. House of Representatives-TX 14th District, and as the Assistant Director of Community Action, Inc. Hays-Caldwell-Blanco. She has been elected to offices in various volunteer organizations including the G I Forum Women – San Marcos Chapter, the American Legion Auxiliary, Greater San Marcos Area Senior Association, Memorial Presbyterian Church Building Fund, and the Calaboose African American Museum. She has been honored for her community service with several awards. In 2004 she received the Calaboose’s Salute to Women Entrepreneurs Trailblazer Award for the First Hispanic County Clerk in Hays County. Additionally, she has received the VFW Voice of Democracy Award Citation, the City of San Marcos Woman’s Hall of Fame Award, the State of Texas Certificate of Recognition Veterans County Committee Member, and the State of Texas “Yellow Rose of Texas” Award.
