Hello future Rodriguez Elementary students and families! I am honored to be the inaugural Principal of Rodriguez Elementary. Throughout my career in San Marcos, I have had the joy of educating many students and meeting many wonderful parents and community members.
I am originally from the small town of Gonzales, Texas, and attended Texas Lutheran University where I received my Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and played football. Upon graduation, I enrolled in the Teacher Recruitment Program at Texas State University to pursue a Master’s degree in elementary education. During the program, I had the privilege of completing my student teaching course work at Hernandez Elementary in San Marcos, Texas. After graduation, I was offered a position to teach third grade at Bowie Elementary. While teaching at Bowie Elementary, I pursued my administrative certification through Lamar University.
After three and a half years at Bowie Elementary, I was offered an Assistant Principal position at Gonzales Junior High in my home town of Gonzales, Texas. After a year in Gonzales, an opportunity to return to San Marcos was made available and I accepted a position as an Assistant Principal at Goodnight Middle School for two years.
I am a firm believer that all students are excellent and are capable of being successful. I also believe that a personal understanding of each student’s strengths, needs, and interests is required to reach students’ full potentials.
When I am not wearing my Principal hat, I am working as a husband and a father to my lovely wife, Alejandra, and wonderful son Korben.
I look forward to meeting all of you this year and am very excited to embark on this wonderful journey with new students, parents, and community members!
