Student School Choice/ Transfer Information

  • San Marcos CISD Families,

    The second Student School Choice/Transfer Window for the 2024-2025 school year is now closed. The deadline for all transfer window submissions was July 8, 2024. 

    The district will consider transfers outside the school choice /transfer window on a case-by-case situation. Please initiate this process with the campus you are requesting a transfer to.

    Do you need to fill out a Student School Choice Transfer? 

    • If a student is currently on a School Choice/Transfer and is moving to a new campus (PreK to K, 5th grade to Middle School, and 8th grade to High School, YES, a new School Choice/Transfer request is necessary.
    • Students with an approved transfer who are not moving to another campus automatically roll up to the next grade within the same campus. NO need to submit School Choice/Transfer.  
    • Students that were attending an Elementary on a transfer but want to attend their zoned Middle School _ NO need to submit a new School Choice/Transfer.  Parents/Guardians should contact their current campus and ask that the "next year's building" be updated to their zoned middle school.

    * Students approved for School Choice/Transfers will not be eligible to receive SMCISD Transportation Services.
