2017 Bond

  • With the SMCISD’s increasing enrollment, the school board’s initiative to create equality across all district elementary campuses, and a belief that students should have every opportunity to obtain the knowledge and training necessary to succeed in future careers, the school board through a bond steering committee made up of community leaders, interested citizens and Architectural / Engineering companies proposed to the community to approve a construction bond package to facilitate these endeavors.

A $107 million bond was voted on and approved by the citizens of San Marcos in May 2017.

This bond will improve San Marcos CISD existing campuses in student capacity, functionality and, energy conservation, as well as fund construction of an additional elementary school and add additional space to Travis Elementary, Bowie Elementary, Crockett  Elementary, Miller Middle School and San Marcos High School. It will also fund construction of an auxiliary site for buses to be held to enhance safety and expedite transportation services to district students.
