Melba Perez serves as the Child Nutrition Director at San Marcos CISD, a role that caps her remarkable journey within the department since joining in 1999. Throughout her tenure, Melba's experience, hard work, dedication, and perseverance have propelled her through various positions, including Associate Director, Department Secretary, and Clerk. In her current role, Melba oversees all Child Nutrition Department operations. Her core responsibilities include: serving high-quality meals for students; providing a safe and sanitary dining environment and managing an efficient Child Nutrition program. Beyond her administrative duties, Melba serves as a valued mentor, fostering growth and excellence throughout the department and district. A proud San Marcos native and SMCISD graduate, Melba's roots run deep in the community she serves. Outside work, she enjoys an active lifestyle, pursuing outdoor activities like swimming, fishing, kayaking and camping with her family. Melba's leadership reflects her unwavering commitment to excellence in serving San Marcos CISD students & staff. 

Maribel Rivas is the Production Compliance Supervisor for the Child Nutrition Department at San Marcos CISD.  She joined SMCISD as a cafeteria specialist in 2002 shortly after being promoted to a Cafeteria Manager in 2003. In 2007, she joined the SMCISD Child Nutrition Office in the position of Accountability Systems Clerk. She strives to provide children with nutritious and well-balanced food that helps children grow, develop, and do well in school.  The menus that she implements are in accordance with federal guidelines.  She is very proud to support learning by promoting healthy habits for lifelong nutrition.  During her off time she enjoys reading and spending time with family, especially all her grandchildren.

I joined the San Marcos CISD Child Nutrition Department in September 2024 as the Child Nutrition Systems Specialist, proudly continuing a family legacy that began with my grandmother, who dedicated 37 years to the department. As a proud San Marcos native and SMCISD alum, I've walked the halls of Bonham Pre-K, Crockett Elementary, Hernandez Intermediate, Miller Junior High, and San Marcos High School. It's an honor to return to the district and contribute to the community that shaped me. When I'm not at work, you'll find me at a Friday night football game chasing after one of my three kids, watching my daughter perform with the SMHS Dance Team and Marching Band, cheering for my son on the soccer field, or supporting my youngest at her softball games. 

Lorenza "Lori" Cervantes serves as the Senior Administrative Associate for the San Marcos Child Nutrition Department, a role she has held since August 2019. Before joining Child Nutrition, Lori worked as an Instructional Aide in Lockhart ISD, Deer Park ISD, and LaPorte ISD. In her current position, she manages various clerical tasks, including ordering office and custodial supplies for both the department and the kitchens. Additionally, Lori collaborates with Parent Liaisons from all campuses to gather the data required for Economically Disadvantaged Coding, which is submitted to the Texas Education Agency (TEA). This data is also crucial for maintaining the San Marcos CISD’s eligibility for the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), a program that enables the district to offer free breakfast and lunch to all students. Lori is currently pursuing her Bachelor's Degree with a Certificate in Leadership and Management at the University of Phoenix. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, especially participating in water-related activities like fishing, swimming, or simply floating.

Earl L Hubbard is the Vending Delivery Driver for the San Marcos CISD Child Nutrition Department. Earl joined the department in January 2014 as a Cafeteria Assistant. For the first seven years with the department, he worked alongside the wonderful kitchen staff at San Marcos High and Miller Middle School preparing delicious meals and smiles for our students and staff. In 2021, Earl joined the office staff as the Vending Delivery Driver. Earl is responsible for maintaining and stocking our snack vending machines for our students and staff across the district, providing deliveries between our campus kitchens, delivering catering and supplies to different district events, and spreading smiles and joy to all. Outside of work, you can catch Earl hanging out with family and friends enjoying the little things.
