APEX Request for TEFA/ESA (Private School or Parent-Placed Students)
If your child attends a private school, is homeschooled, or is not currently enrolled in a public school, and you are applying for a Texas Education Freedom Account (TEFA/ESA), the district may be required to submit your child's special education documentation to the Texas Education Agency (TEA) through the APEX system.
Parents do not upload documents directly to APEX. The school district submits information on your behalf after receiving a parent request.
An upload may be needed if:
Your child is not enrolled in public school, and
Your child was found eligible for special education within the last three years, or
Your child's special education information is not available through state PEIMS data
Important: TEFA applications close March 17, 2026. Requests should be submitted as soon as possible to ensure timely processing.
